3. Trinity Church-Lubbock
Homer Sheats established Trinity Church in 1960 as Highland Assembly of God. In 1963, his son, Morris Sheats, became a pastor. Under his leadership, the name was changed to Trinity Church and moved to the current location.
1970 – Trinity Church experienced a three-week revival during which membership tripled. This growth resulted in the construction in 1977 of the Shrine that we still worship today. In 1980, Ron Wahlrobe became the senior pastor. Under his leadership, construction of the Education 1 building began. Pastor Ron died tragically in a plane crash in 1984.
The members and leaders of the Trinity came together to seek the face of God and persevere in this difficult time. Construction was completed during a difficult season without a shepherd. 2001 – The Lord answered those prayers and brought Carl Toti as senior pastor. His leadership has restored Trinity to a very healthy and vibrant Church in Lubbock. He is now the tenured senior pastor of Trinity Church, and the consistency of his leadership is creating a place for amazing ministry and impact to occur.

7. Calvary Baptist Church-Lubbock
Baptist churches, associations and organizations in general have adopted confessions of faith as a testimony to the world and as instruments of doctrinal responsibility. We are not ashamed to affirm before the world that these are doctrines that we consider precious and essential to the Baptist tradition of faith and practice.
As a committee, we have been tasked with addressing “certain needs” of our own generation. In an age increasingly hostile to Christian truth, our challenge is to express the truth as revealed in Scripture and bear witness to Jesus Christ, who is “the Way, the Truth, and the Life.”
The 1963 committee rightly sought to identify and affirm “certain definite doctrines which Baptists believe, cherish, and with which they have been and are now closely identified.” Our living faith is based on eternal truths. “Thus this generation of Southern Baptists is in a historical succession of intentions and purposes as it strives to establish for its day and theological climate those articles of the Christian faith which are most securely maintained among us.”
The purpose of this statement of faith and message is to set forth certain teachings in which we believe.”

He has given us a physical structure to minister, but we are so excited to see Him build His church, which is US, His people! We have had the joy of continuing to reach outside of our church building with the added advantage of a neighborhood of churches that want to build God’s kingdom together.

The “Heights Experience” is designed for anyone who is interested in getting closer to God. Expect to be welcomed, renewed, understood, engaged, and leave changed. Whether you grew up in the church or have little contact with the church, we want you to know that you are welcome and loved.
We have tried to eliminate many of the man-made “things” that keep people away from God and create an environment where they can draw closer to Him. We strive to create a relaxed, informal and simple environment; where the activity and vocabulary are familiar; and where people can understand that God is on their side, wanting them to come closer and relate to Him.
The Heights Fellowship church family meets to celebrate together twice each Sunday at 9:30 a.m. m. and at 11 a.m. m.
Our goal is to remove as many man-made (church-created) obstacles as possible between people and God, so that you can relate to Him and let Him do His work in your life.
The “Heights Experience” is about you having a God moment, perhaps for the first time in a long time. We want people to know the “difference different people make.”
