In the mid-1980s, a group of like-minded people met at a social gathering. Through the introductions, they learned that they were all followers of Shree SwaminaryanVadtalGadi. That chance meeting was the seed of our current Mandir. As time passed and they continued to meet, that group of Haribhaktos launched the idea of building the first VadtalGadiMandir in the DFW area. As with any great ambition, the process did not happen overnight.
At first, they started gathering in various homes once a month for sastang. Over time, an official Chapter was formed and the once-a-month sastangin moved from being held in homes to being held in halls rented for certain festivals. During these times, dedicated haribhaktos carried books, instruments, sheets and kitchen utensils from house to house. These items were stored in the trunks, garages, and homes of these individuals. Through sheer determination, hard work, and the blessing of HariKrishnaMaharaj, they purchased a church in Grand Prairie, Texas, in 1988. The church property was approximately 19,000 square feet and sat on 1.75 acres. After the initial renovation was completed, the MurtiPratisthaMahostav was celebrated on 4 July 1991.

This is a Hindu place of worship. It’s so amazing and the people here are so helpful. I see all the volunteers around to help. Temple is so beautiful and calm that it gives you peace of mind. They sell authentic Gujarati food that is very reasonable and fresh.
