2. Lewisville Church of Christ
Visiting a new church can be intimidating. We want you to feel comfortable when you visit us for worship services, so here is a brief summary of what you can expect from a typical service with us:
Worship:
When you visit one of our Sunday services, you can expect to find a simple worship service that adheres to the teachings of the New Testament. When we gather together each Lord’s Day (Acts 20:7, Revelation 1:10), which is Sunday, we will worship God for . . .
Praying:
We are led by different men in our congregation (1 Timothy 2:1-8).
Singing:
The entire congregation joins together to praise God in a cappella songs, that is, without musical instruments as the early church did in its worship (Ephesians 5:19, Colossians 3:16). We find this type of praise uplifting, pure, and beautiful, and we hope you are too. Many of our guests join us in singing, while others simply prefer to listen while we worship.
Taking Communion:
Every Sunday, our members remember the death of Christ by eating unleavened bread and drinking the fruit of the vine (Acts 20:7). We sat in silence for a few minutes and reflected on how wonderful it is that God loved us enough to give his own Son for us.
Preaching:
We will enjoy a Bible lesson that lasts approximately 30 minutes (Acts 2:42; Romans 10:14). Most Sundays, our preaching minister presents these lessons, although occasionally a guest speaker will guide our thoughts.
Donation:
Our members contribute weekly/monthly to the work of the church (1 Corinthians 16:2). We do not ask or expect our guests to give anything in the offering.

4. Northview Baptist Church
PURPOSE AND BELIEFS
Our Mission is to be the Church based on the Great Commission passage found in Matthew 28:18-20. Of all the things Christ could have said before leaving the earth, he chose to challenge us to BE THE CHURCH. When we do what we are called to do and be who we are called to be, our mission will be successful.
We seek to attract people who personally know and worship the risen Christ, who are building meaningful relationships with fellow Christians, who are becoming fully mature disciples, and who are making Him known by using their spiritual gifts in and through the church to impact your lost. world for Christ.
OUR PURPOSE…
God gave the local church a specific purpose; To be a church, we are very careful not to do things that are not part of His plan for us as believers. We must be different. Our actions will be a reflection of that difference. In everything we do, we ask the question: Does it support our five purposes?
- WORSHIP
- FELLOWSHIP
- DISCIPLESHIP
- MINISTRY
- EVANGELISM
OUR BELIEFS…
Yes, Northview is a Baptist church. However, there is no “creed,” “belief,” or “philosophy” that we must accept. There is also no such thing as “The Baptist Church” as is found in other denominations. Each Baptist church is an independent church that chooses to cooperate with other like-minded Baptist churches in common efforts or projects generally related to missions. Since there is no official written statement, an effort was made in 1963 to write down what most Baptist churches hold and believe according to the Scriptures.
Having the Bible as our only written basis for our beliefs, some specific things were written to help others gain a better perspective on some of the most common beliefs shared by Baptist churches. Again, this is not a creed or requirement for churches; However, we have found, as people of Northview, that these statements are very accurate and align with what we believe and teach as a church. The collection of these beliefs is called The Baptist Faith and Message and can be explored further here.

4. The Village Church
As a church, we are called to carry out the Great Commission and the Great Commandment, and our mission statement was created to capture both critical commands.
Our mission drives everything we do, from the ministries we provide to the resources we produce. We hope this call serves as an invitation to actively participate with us in the work of the Lord rather than remaining a passive observer.
Our vision 2030
Here’s a snapshot of what we’re currently working on. We hope and pray that in 2030 the following can be said of The Village Church:
We are a welcoming home for thousands of people who seek Jesus Christ and grow in the grace of the gospel. By totally depending on God for all our efforts, we make disciples in all ages; Every stage of life has a portion in the church. We celebrate 300 baptisms each year. We are a safe place for the broken and suffering to come and receive hope and care. We demonstrate the ministry of presence as we rejoice with those who rejoice and weep with those who mourn. We send disciples to their homes, to our neighborhoods, to our city, and to the nations.
We have planted and revitalized 30 churches and have 100 attendees reaching out to 10 unreached people groups. We have seen more than 50,000 people reached by the gospel through our campuses, church plants, revitalization efforts and attendees. We have generously provided resources to millions of people around the world as we share the gifts God has entrusted to us. Every day, in every space, at every stage of life, we are building

6. One Community Church – Lewisville Campus
Jesus is speaking with God the Father and sharing his heart’s desire for unity among his people. He specifically says “…that they may all be one, Father, as you are in me and I in you.” Therefore, the “O” represents the unity modeled by Christ and the Father. We strive for that unity in our small groups and in our church community as a whole. Within the “O” is the cross of Christ by which we are eternally free. Without the cross we would be eternally lost and totally incapable of seeking authentic community (unity) with others.
The cross leads us to the “N” which represents the newness of life found after the cross and in Christ. The “N” shape represents the heartbeat of God that we now have the ability to follow because Christ closed the gap between us and God. We believe God’s heart beats for the lost according to Matthew 28:19-20 and He wants us to share his hope with a dying world. We also believe that God’s heart beats for His children so that they may live completely for Him. By following God’s heartbeat we can now grow in the new life found in Christ. Growth is represented here by the line that runs from “N” to “E”.
We believe that growth is best achieved in community. Therefore, the growth line completes the “E” that represents everyone. Christ died for everyone so that everyone could have access to God. We believe that the cross, the pursuit of God’s heartbeat, and true community are not only available but necessary for the abundant life Christ came to give us.

8. North Point Christian Church
It’s always hard to be the “new kid on the block.” We promise not to make you stand up and be introduced or sing your alma mater’s fight song. In fact, you can be as anonymous as you want! A few people may come up and welcome you, but if you keep moving toward a seat in the auditorium, you’ll usually be safe there. Sit more toward the middle of a row…it’s harder for people to catch up to you there. Sometimes we let people say “good morning” to people sitting near them.
It is quite difficult to avoid this moment, but it passes quickly. We shake hands. Some people hug each other. They won’t hug you, but if you think it’s going to happen, start coughing. People will walk away.

We currently serve the local community through our partnerships with Christian Community Action, Metrocrest Services and Open Arms Sober Living to name a few.

We are discovering the joy of being a family with diverse backgrounds, traditions and gifts.

10. First Baptist Church
The history of First Baptist Lewisville began in 1869 when a small group of 13 dedicated people formed a humble church called Holford Prairie Church, later Holford Baptist Church, in a two-story building that stood where Old Hall Cemetery now stands in McGee Lane. , just a few blocks north of our church’s current location.
In 1882, the 37 members met and formed a committee to build a new church. The First Baptist Church of Lewisville was built on the corner of Charles Street and Main.
In 1935, a basement was dug beneath the church which allowed the Sunday School to operate with four distinct departments. In 1952 a three-story brick building was built. In 1956 a new auditorium was added with capacity for 450 people.
The church was remodeled in 1973 under the direction of Dr. Gilbert Callaway. During the 1980s, under the leadership of Brother Leonard Molone, a new sanctuary was built.
In the mid-90s, with Dr. Stephen Hatfield as pastor, First Baptist moved from Old Town Lewisville to our current location on Valley Ridge Blvd. The most recent phase of construction was in 2019 with the addition of our children’s wing and the remodeling of our student wing.
FBC Lewisville has adapted to the change and continued to thrive. The history and roots of our church run very deep in this area. The church’s staff and leadership are committed to ensuring that FBC will always be known for helping people engage with Jesus, his followers, and his world.
